Much loved UK tourist attraction Merrivale Model Village hit the headlines last week after gaining a surprise new addition to its display courtesy of none other than infamous graffiti artist, Banksy.

Elusive as ever, Banksy struck the Great Yarmouth attraction using a series of clever diversion tactics. It seems that a miniature stable was initially taken off-site before being returned with its new addition adorning a sidewall. The words; “Go Big or Go Home” and a tiny, signature rat, spray-painted on the exterior.

Attraction owner, Frank Newsome, was initially unsure if the work was genuine however Banksy swiftly confirmed the authenticity of the piece via his website.
“Go Big or Go Home” is now confirmed as part of a series of 10 works located around Norfolk and Suffolk that Banksy has termed The Great British Staycation.

Mr Newsome had some security concerns initially. Due to the public locations of many of Banksy’s artworks and the large monetary value that they can quickly accumulate, the pieces can be known for attracting a huge amount of public and media attention with some pieces also being defaced or damaged. The stable was initially removed from display, however, it is now back in situ with protective perspex for visitors to enjoy whilst the owners discuss the long term plans for this surprise miniature artwork.
