Get ready to go raid those recycling bins!

Thursday 18th March marks Global Recycling Day and one creative crafter has challenged the online mini community to turn their trash into treasure!

Mari, known as @lundbylover on Instagram is leading the charge, encouraging fellow doll’s house lovers to have a go at creating something new from items destined for the recycling bin.

A relatively new, but essential, date for the diary 2021 marks the 3rd year Global recycling Day has been observed, the official website says;

”The inaugural Global Recycling Day took place on 18 March 2018, on the same day BIR celebrated its 70th anniversary. The Day was an unprecedented success, with more than 13 million people across the globe actively participating in the day.”

I am willing to bet that many of you reading have a not-so-little stash of salvaged materials and found objects that have been squirrelled away for their opportune moment and the perfect mini make, well, now’s their time to shine!

Miniature making has always lent itself to using recycled or repurposed materials and objects, it’s one of the many joys of sharing the hobby is delighting in the many innovative ways makers have managed to create their mini objects.

Here’s an example from Mari to get the ball rolling; a tiny curtain pole from an old guitar string!
